I have a major weakness when it comes to accessories for my grill. This collection includes everything from rib racks, jalapeno popper trays, bbq meatloaf trays, pizza trays and more. I have a crazy amount of grill tongs and spatulas. Even though the collection is large, I use most of them because I grill all the time and am selective with what accessories I own. Napoleon is one of my favorite companies that specialize in grilling and I use one of their propane grills and many of their accessories. They have a Pro Series line of grill accessories and, of the ones I have used, they are excellent products. My favorite product in this line is the Gourmet Chef Set.
This Gourmet Chef Set is amazing and I have been using it all the time this summer. It comes with a great stainless steel rack that can go right on the grill. This set also comes with a pizza stone and 6 stainless steel skewers that each can fit on the rack for grilling or presentation.
- Want to grill a pizza, bruschetta bread or nachos? The pizza stone is perfect for that.
- Want to grill some skewers of meat or veggies? Rest the skewers on the rack and they will come out amazing.
People always think of using pizza stones for well, pizza. In the picture above I show you how I used the pizza stone on the grill to make some amazing Pulled Pork Nachos. The pizza stone is a great way to turn your grill into an oven and prevent heating up the house during summer months. Normally, things like nachos could not be done on a grill, but using this pizza stone, it is simple, easy and comes out amazing! The round stone fits perfectly on the rack and you can grill with it a couple of different ways. Lay the pizza stone directly on the grill and the thick stone will protect food from charring. Then, when it is ready, lift the stone off the grill and onto the rack for easy transport. The other option is to put the pizza stone and rack both onto the grill. This makes taking the stone on and off the grill quite easy but the handles of the rack will get hot requiring heat resistant gloves. Both ways work great. I have used this pizza stone A LOT making pizza, nachos and even store bought frozen chicken nuggets for the kids. I love how it increases what can be cooked on a grill.
The stainless steel skewers are also awesome and far nicer than using bamboo skewers. The rack has grooves that allow the 6 skewers to be perfectly lined up during grilling. I grill all the time and have made many different kinds of skewers, using bamboo and many different steel models, but this has got to be the best I have tried. They are durable skewers and have a nice size handle. There is even this square steel piece (you can see them in the picture above) that allows you to easily push all the meat off the skewer once it is cooked. I love that little feature! Resting the skewers on the rack during the grilling time helps the food cook more evenly and prevents the burning (or sticking!) that can happen when the skewers rest directly on the grill grates.
It is great that Napoleon made this product be dual purposed and that the rack works with the skewers as well as the pizza stone. This is one accessory I am glad to have in my collection.
