Big Mac Sliders

I must admit that I do enjoy a Big Mac. The beef, cheese, pickles, lettuce all work together great, but there is one signature aspect of this burger. The sauce!

My kids are just like any other, and when we are deciding to go out to eat, they are all screaming for McDonalds. They have done that for years. Usually, when we are on the road, travelling to visit family, we stop at Service Centres, and that allows the kids to get their McDonalds treat.

For myself, I almost always get the Big Mac. I just love that sauce!

At home, I grill burgers all the time and for years I have used Thousand Island dressing as a condiment for my burger. It is not exactly the same as McDonald’s secret sauce, but it is pretty close.

I have even posted a recipe for my copycat version of the Big Mac sauce. You can find it here:

Try it and you will be amazed at how close it is to the real sauce!

Fairly recently, McDonalds is actually selling bottles of their Big Mac Sauce. I was in the store the other day and grabbed a bottle of it and give it a try.

Instead of grilling some burgers, I wanted to try making some Big Mac Sliders. We could actually call them Little Macs!

I love making sliders, using 12 pack dinner rolls. They are so many brands and varieties of these with the King Hawaiian brand being very popular. Most of the time I purchase the pack of rolls sold at Walmart.  I also have a couple other recipes using these dinner rolls. Check out these links!

While those sliders are awesome, I wanted to try and make some burger sliders with these buns and now that I have the special sauce, making Big Mac Sliders was quickly put on the menu!

First thing I did was brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet. Make sure to crumble the beef with a wooden spoon.

Once the beef is fully cooked and the onion soft, drain the grease out of the skillet.

You want to keep these 12 dinner rolls intact. Use a long bread knife to carefully slice these dinner rolls in half horizontally.

Lay both of the halves of the dinner rolls on a large baking sheet. Make sure the bottom half is cut side up and top half is cut side down.

Brush the top half of the dinner rolls with melted butter and then sprinkle with sesame seeds.

On the bottom halves, evenly spread the cooked ground beef. Lay the cheese slices on top of the beef.

Bake in a 325F oven for 20-25 minutes. The cheese should be melted and the dinner rolls starting to brown nicely.

Lay the pickles on top of the melted cheese.

Evenly spread the finely chopped lettuce on top of the cheese and pickles.

Flip the top half of the dinner rolls over and spread a good amount of the Big Mac sauce on the cut rolls.

For the sauce, you could use the store bought Big Mac sauce, my copycat recipe, or Thousand Island dressing. They would all work great for this!

Lay the top half of the dinner rolls on top of the bottom half to finish off these mini Big Macs!

Cut them into sliders and serve.

These are amazing and taste just like a Big Mac. They get gobbled up so fast every time I make them!
