Chocolate Chip Waffles

I love the holidays. There is not much better than spending the holidays with family. We usually all get together at the house for a few days. These days are filled with fun, laughter and lots of food. Seriously, I mean LOTS of food.

People get up at all sorts of time in the morning, so I like to have a breakfast prepared and ready to go whenever someone is awake and ready to eat.

Waffles are perfect because I can make a big batch of waffle batter and have the waffle iron hot and ready to go. Then anytime someone wants to eat, simply pour some batter in the waffle iron and breakfast is done in minutes.

We have made waffles for years at our family gatherings. Everyone loves waking up to some fresh warm golden brown waffles – and they are even better with the chocolate chips!

The De’Longhi Livenza All-Day Grill is ideal for making waffles.

This grill by De’Longhi is very versatile and can do much more than just making waffles. The waffle iron plates can be removed and replaces with grill or griddle plates. I love using the grill plates for making panini! With the griddle plates, the top of the grill can actually fully open and lay flat providing two nice size griddles for bacon, eggs, pancakes and more.

Once the batter is mixed, preheat the grill with the waffle iron plates attached. The De’Longhi Livenza All-Day Grill is very simple to use. With the waffle iron plates in place, turn the two dials to the waffle icon and it will preheat them to the temperature for making waffles.

Spray the waffle plates with the cooking spray and pour some batter into the waffle iron and close the lid.

Cook until the waffles are golden brown. This usually takes about 5 minutes or so.

Remove the cooked waffles and then you can pour some more batter in the waffle irons to make another set of waffles.

These chocolate chip waffles are perfect for that holiday morning breakfast. The De’Longhi Livenza All-Day Grill is perfect for this as it is able to make batch upon batch of waffles all morning long. I also especially like that it can make four waffles at a time. That is especially helpful when you have a lot of family members hungry for breakfast!
