Blueberry Pomegranate Popsicle

At least once a week I am trying a new popsicle recipe. So far, the Korean melon popsicles have been the kid’s favourite. That all changed when these Blueberry Pomegranate Popsicles came out of the freezer. Immediately, they screamed that these were the best so far and they wanted another one. Not only do these popsicles taste amazing, they are also incredibly healthy!

Both blueberries and pomegranates are among a group of fruits known to be very high in antioxidants. Antioxidants slow down the production of free radicals in our body. A diet high in antioxidants has been known to help reduce health problems such as heart disease, macular degeneration, diabetes and cancer.

Be careful when making these popsicles as they are a deep purple colour and could stain easily. The juice mixture is somewhat thick and almost syrupy in texture and may take a little longer to freeze.

I have received many inquiries regarding where I got these molds. I spent a great deal of time searching for the exact type of mold. I knew I wanted a classic popsicle shape that used wooden sticks and went from store to store looking for the perfect shape.

It seemed like I would be out of luck, as everything was either round, star shaped or something different. I came home and decided to check online to see if I could order what I wanted. It did not take long as I quite quickly found EXACTLY what I was looking for.

It is the Progressive International popsicle mold and I got it from Amazon. I love it and we seem to always have some new flavour going into these molds.

Freeze Time: 2 hours
Total Time: 2 hours 5 minutes
Servings: 10 popsicles


  • 2 cups blueberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar


  • Blend all the ingredients until very smooth and runny.
  • Pour the mixture into popsicle molds.
  • Freeze until solid (about 2 hours).
  • Enjoy them on a hot summer day!

    These were delicious and we adjusted the recipe slightly by adding 3.5 tbls of lemon juice to the mixture. We also replaced the sugar with Stevia (just a wee bit) but that personal preference. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

    My daughter loves these popsicles Steve! Summer has not yet begun and I am already unto batch two…doesn’t help that my husband also sneaks a few when I am not looking. A clear winner and a family favourite!
