Caramel Peanut Butter Apple Dip

The kids are always hungry when they come home from school. They love to have a snack before dinner. Friday was my day off and I wanted to make a snack for them to enjoy after school. A couple of posts ago I was talking about wonderful food combinations; well here we go again. Apples and caramel – apples and peanut butter; both combinations are incredible. This dip is so creamy due to the cream cheese and marshmallow creme. I have to say, I LOVE marshmallow creme.

When the kids came home they dove into the dip and immediately started asking, “Are you going to put this on your food blog?” They loved it and tore through the apples. I peeled and sliced some bananas and they were popular with the dip as well. I have not yet decided what I liked better with the dip, apples or bananas – not sure.

This recipe is adapted from Real Mom Kitchen.

  1. Hey Steve, would this keep it’s consistency if you warmed it up? I’m just thinking that a warm dip would be yummy … Maybe even as a different fondue. Looks great!

    • Hey Janice! We had a little bit of the dip left and warmed it up. 25 seconds in the microwave warmed it up nicely. It held its consistency fairly well, although a bit thinner. After tasting it, we all thought it tasted GREAT but also thought it might taste better on something different (cookies, biscotti). Using this as a fondue dip would be a great idea I think! Thanks for sharing the idea.

  2. i can see why they like that dip, it sounds too good!
I know my girls would love this!

  3. Looks wonderful. Great snack. My family would love this.

  4. What a great snack! That dip sounds amazing.

  5. Hi Steve,

I always did think that peanut butter and apples were made for one another. Looks really yummy and certainly something that I need to try in the near future.

  6. This is one of the best dips I’ve seen in a while. Of course, I do have a thing for peanut butter!

I’ve pinned it and will probably be serving this at our Christmas get together!

  7. 2 of my favorites Steve! I love peanut butter with apples and I love caramel with apples. Brilliant to combine them!
